Next week will be a busy one for me:
Monday - Physical Therapy (shoulder)
Tuesday - Surgery (removal of stent in left kidney, outpatient)
Wednesday - Shoulder Doctor (Center City Philadelphia)
Thursday - Physical Therapy (shoulder)
Friday - OFF....Vacation....nothing medical (hopefully!)
I had Pre-Admisson Testing today at St. Mary's in preparation for Tuesday's surgical procedure.
I am going in on an outpatient basis (no admission, in and out) to have the plastic tube (stent) that's in my left kidney/ureter removed...you know...through the local plumbing (that means my penis, OUCH!) though thankfully I will be sedated.
I am hoping all goes well, it's a simple enough procedure and should take no more than 2-3 minutes to actually do (it's the pre-surgery prep that takes hours and hours) but the last time I had a stent in (my right kidney just over a year ago) the doctor (not the same one I see Tuesday) had a real problem getting it out because the kidney stones had grown around the stent, essentially locking it in place, like Excalibur, so it required about 90 minutes of surgery to remove bit by bit.
See my blog entry about that event HERE.
I can only hope this does not repeat itself.
I'll keep you all apraised once I get home from the surgery.

Welcome to my blog. For repeat viewers you may have noticed that I have renamed my blog (formerly RobMac's Brainfarts), I have done this because the only real new stuff that makes it on here revolves around my health, so I thought the new name apropos. It's not a happy place, but it's where I will be honest about the medical crap going on in my Life.
